With a body of work where comedy and drama usually flow together, he is also recognized for the use of Mexican and Latin pop culture elements.
His casual sense of humor and his precise direction of actors are two of the characteristics of his work, where he uses to ensemble peculiar casts of actors and actresses of very different backgrounds, accomplishing a very different tone.
Gómez is one of the most exciting directors from México.
Caiman's dream

Inaki, a young thief, is forced to flee Spain when his elderly partner dies during a robbery. Inaki travels to Mexico to live with his father, Patxi, but the two have a strained relationship. Inaki meets Patxi's drag-queen landlord, Aunt Carmen, and begins a relationship with Carmen's niece, Anita. Carmen and Anita encourage Inaki to go straight while Patxi tries to recruit him in a new robbery.
